Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies is an intellectually stimulating and diverse department offering an active undergraduate group, personal attention, and a welcoming atmosphere in a large University. CAMS is an excellent liberal arts major that prepares students for virtually any profession after college through its emphasis on the development of written and oral communication and analytical skills, as well as a deep perspective on history and culture. We encourage students to take advantage of the CAMS community and our many resources. We offer courses in the languages and cultures of Greece, Rome, Egypt, the Near East, Anatolia, and the Levant. We also offer study abroad programs in Greece, Rome, Egypt, and Israel as well as archaeological excavations in Egypt and Israel.
